BIO

Miles Temp is a 17 year old singer songwriter from Liverpool gaining a spot in the industry ‘quickly proving to be one of the city’s most promising talents’ (Boot Magazine), who has been recording, releasing and performing original music since 2021. Temp has been admired for his songwriting affirming ‘there is a beauty in expressing emotions like the, a catharsis that many people will be able to relate to’ (Sun 13).

Miles’ is currently on his fifth release from releasing ‘Heartbeat’ on the 24th of September getting its debut play on BBC Merseyside Introducing by Dave Monks stating ‘beautiful that, we think the best so far from Miles Temp’ and gaining reviews from Sun 13, Boot Magazine and All Indie Magazine being called ‘a minimalist masterpiece’ (Boot Magazine) and being compared to ‘Conan Gray and Clario’ as a ‘indebted indie-pop burst’ (Sun 13). He has recently hit 15K streams on Spotify with his fourth track ‘Polaroid Picture’ as well as 12K on his first single 'The End?', gaining a fanbase of 400+ monthly listeners alongside 4k followers and 48k likes on TikTok.

Miles has played at a variety of venues across Merseyside, including Arts Bar Baltic, Round the Corner, Prohibition Studios and Futureyard, selling out his first headline show at Ditto Coffee in December. Being ‘the highlight of the night’ having an ‘extremely powerful voice’ with songs that are ‘so vulnerable and compelling’ (Rianne Downey). After gaining a place on Sound City’s LAUNCH Artist Training & Development Programme last year, Miles played Sound City 2024 at The Jacaranda Basement, having a lock out, one in one out at his debut festival gaining much support being 'definitely on our radar and someone to watch for the future’ (Dave Pichilingi CEO Modern Sky/Sound City). He also supported Alex Spencer in the Kazimier Stockroom on October 1st on his Liverpool tour date.

Without a doubt, Miles Temp is one to keep a keen eye on in the music scene as he develops his sound through his moving vocals, acoustic and layers on the SPD 1 sample pad. While live ‘the added backing tracks that brought a cinematic edge to the biggest moment, with swirling strings and drum rhythms, added an extra layer of textural interest behind his acoustic playing and brought together a rapidly developing sound’ (Boot magazine).

He will be Supporting The Beggs Sisters on 16th November at Future Yard as well as playing at Ellis Murphy's presents alongside The Kowloons, James Jackson and Ellis Murphy on the 21st of November at Leaf, Bold st. Keep an eye out for more gigs coming soon.

SINGLE REVIEWS

BOOT MAGAZINE - HEARTBEAT

'a minimalist masterpiece - a strikingly raw and intimate exploration of love and loss delivered with a level of emotional depth that belies his age.'

'A Clairo and Conan Gray indebted Indie-Pop burst'

'He manages to strike a balance between restraint and vulnerability, avoiding the trap of trying too hard to make his point. Instead, 'Heartbeat' thrives in its subtlety, a reflection on the ache of lost love that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable.'

ALL INDIE MAGAZINE - HEARTBEAT

5/5 star review of new single Heartbeat by All Indie Magazine based in Manchester.

'feels like a pulse-driven journey through modern electo-pop, but with raw emotional edge that sets it apart from the slick, overproduced fare dominating the scene'

'Temps vocals are airy yet grounded, capturing both the thrill and anxiety of intimacy with a subtle grit that recalls early 2000s indie electronica.'

SUN 13 - HEARTBEAT

First review for Heartbeat as it was released on the 24th of September.

'Miles’ voice is distinctive and emotive, with the word ‘angelic’ popping unbidden into my mind. His tones are well suited to introspective ruminations on life and love and are pitched high in the mix, a trick that only works if the vocals are good enough. They are.'

'However this is not a down song, despite the chorus finishing on “the way it hurt when you moved on”, there is a beauty in expressing emotions like this, a catharsis that many people will be able to relate to.'

RIANNE DOWNEY

'The highlight of my night was definitely Miles Temp. With just his guitar and voice, he totally held the room in the palm of his hand. His voice is extremely powerful and his original songs were so vulnerable and compelling. The room fell silent a few times. With such presence, it’s hard to believe Miles is just starting out. I’m eagerly waiting to hear more from him!'
